Flip Flop Wines Review

You may remember last month my family and I all got together for some Fun, Food, and Flip Flop Wine Tasting.  And in the spirit of this new brand from Underdog Merchants, we all wore our Flip Flops!  My family enjoyed the Pinot Noir, Riesling, and the Pinot Grigio.  When Flip Flop Wines sent me three new wines to try, I decided to share with a few close to me that hadn't yet tried it. I gave the bottle of Merlot to my older brother who shared it with his wife and her aunt.  I took the bottle of Chardonay to my in-laws when we went up for a visit. And I gave the bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon to my friend and neighbor who shared it with her husband and sister.
For those of you who don't remember, David Georges, the vintner of Flip Flop Wines, grew up in Southern California where the laid-back lifestyle included wearing flip flops most of the time.  He combined this laid-back style with his love for wines to create a "well-balanced wine that everyone can afford".  Unlike many inexpensive wines, Flip Flop Wines are top-notch.  For only $7 a bottle, you definitely aren't expecting the high quality that Flip Flop Wines deliver.

My brother and his wife's aunt couldn't say enough about the Merlot.   Her aunt, who is in her late 60's, said she had tried a lot of Merlot in her day but she needed to find out where they sold Flip Flop Merlot near her.  My brother said, "The merlot from Flip-Flop was very enjoyable. It paired well with my pasta. It had a great taste and a smooth finish that left me wanting a second glass. It is by far one of the best merlots that I have tasted. Thank you Flip-Flop Wines."  Sounds like the Merlot was a hit all around.

My Mother-in-law loved the Chardonnay despite the fact that she usually sticks to Riesling.  She said most Chardonnay's are too dry for her, but Flip Flop's Chardonnay was delicious and left a great taste in her mouth.

My friend and neighbor also had great things to say about the Cabernet Sauvignon.  She said that is was warm and smooth.  She loved that it didn't provide the acidic overload that some Cabernet's are guilty of.  She said that overall it was a great red wine and it was just what she needed to soothe her heart after the American Women's Soccer team lost the World Cup Final!!!

Now if it wasn't amazing enough that David Georges produced such a wonderful collection of wines at an affordable price, he has also teamed up with an amazing non-profit group, Soles4Souls.  Soles4Souls is a hard working organization that works on collecting used and new shoes for those in need.  "Shoes help prevent the spread of parasitic diseases that plague over 1.4 billion people worldwide, and they are basic human necessity".  For every bottle of wine purchased, Flip Flop Wines will donate one pair of shoes to someone in need.   Their goal is to donate 11 million shoes in 2011!   And you can help them out by trying out a bottle today!  Also feel free to join them on Facebook.   They are a friendly group and always have some great discussions going on.

Disclosure:  I received 3 bottles of wine in exchange for my honest review.  I was under no obligation to write a positive review.  All opinions are honest and my own.

Cute wine label and name and that was cute that you all wore your flip flops :o) I have never had a taste for anything "stronger" than juice! Even carbonated sodas are too much unless, they have lots and lots of ice or are almost flat! haha What a wonderful organization that their company is able to team up with.

Blessings & Aloha!
Thank you so much for visiting :o) Have an awesome weekend, my friend!
