Lite Sprites Review

My girls are at the stage in their life where the idea of magic is....well, Magical.  They love fairies, witches, and wizards.  And they can usually be seen playing a game that involves unsharpened pencils magic wands.  When they received their Prisma Lite Sprite from WowWee, they were beyond thrilled.  The package came with not only a cute Sprite, but also a magic wand!
The Lite Wand has many functions, but their favorite use for it is color collecting.  The wand already has 10 colors stored up to begin with, but the girls can collect up to 50 colors at a time.  They love searching the house for new colors to "magically" collect with the wand and then transferring the colors to their Lite Sprite.  You can place your Lite Wand on the Flower Card provided or you can simply place it on any flat object in the house to collect it's color.  The wand also has several games for them to play.  One of them is color collecting, but they have to find a specific color to match the one shown.  They love running around with their Sprite and Wand trying to beat the clock.

The Wand also has several spells that you can use on the Sprite and fellow sprites that you may collect, which by the way, the girls have already added to their Christmas wish list.  Read a little from the website to get a better understanding of the whole Lite Sprite world:
Lite Sprites use color and light to express their moods and feelings. Each Sprite has her own personality and domain in the natural world. The Sprite Sisterhood includes: Prisma, Astra, Meadow and Brooke. Bleak, the naughty Sprite, rejects color and uses her powers to eliminate or disrupt color in Lite-Topia. Visit Litesprites.com to explore the world of Lite-Topia!

Visit their website to see all the Lite Sprite, Playsets, and Lite Pet Sets. You can also join them on Facebook to keep up with their newest toys and shows.  And seeing as how they were named a  2011 Winner from the Toy Insider as a Most Wanted toy, I'd better get to Target or Wal-mart to grab some for Christmas early.

Cops and Robbers

Every afternoon I pick my children up from the bus stop and I get a rundown on that afternoon's game of Cop and Robbers.  This simple game has become an absolute favorite at my daughters' school and I love it.  Not only are they running around getting exercise for twenty minutes, but they are also socializing and learning teamwork.  Of course there are some days that the games just doesn't work in their favor, but that teaches them sportsmanship.  All around, it is a pretty good game for them to play daily.  I am so thankful that their school hasn't eliminated recess time because along with the much needed exercise and socializing, they are grabbing some fresh air and sunlight.  Recess is very important part of a student's day and Danimals is working hard to get our children active and healthy.  Have you all heard about Rally For Recess?  By working together with the other parents and teachers, you could win a $20,000 playground for your school.

How can you help your school win?   From now through February 8, 2012 whenever you purchase Danimal’s products, you will be able to find codes on the packaging. Collect the codes from the packaging and then sign up online and enter in all of your codes. You can also send your codes in by mail if it is easier for you or your school. Throughout the contest you can visit http://rallyforrecess.com to check out the Leader boards and play fun games.  Is your school winning?

What was your favorite game to play at Recess?

Ingredients

• 3 (7.5 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
• 1/3 cup white sugar
• 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans
• 1/2 cup butter, melted
• 1/2 cup brown sugar

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease 6 miniature Bundt pans.
2. In a small bowl, stir together the white sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. Use scissors or a knife to cut each of the biscuits into various sizes. Each one can be cut into anywhere from 2 to 5 pieces.
3. Sprinkle about half of the pecans amongst the 6 prepared pans. Roll pieces of biscuit in the cinnamon-sugar, and place them into the pans, distributing evenly. Sprinkle any remaining cinnamon-sugar over the dough balls.
4. Mix together the brown sugar and melted butter. Stir in the remaining pecans. Distribute evenly over the pans of dough balls. For ease of getting in and out of the oven, place all of the pans on a cookie sheet.
5. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the biscuits are toasted and cooked through. Remove from the oven, and invert individual pans onto serving plates while still hot.

Lady Antebellum: Own The Night CD Review

A couple of weeks ago, I received a promotional copy of  Lady Antebellum's latest CD, Own the Night.  This is an extremely amazing album.  It is well-balanced with fast and slow songs so that everybody in the house is pleased.  My girls and I have had it on repeat since we stuck it in the CD player.  I can honestly say that I love it more than their previous album.  And according to Charles Kelley, “We took more time to write and record this record than we've ever done before. I remember looking at Hillary and Dave at the GRAMMYs this year, on the wildest night of our lives, and saying 'this is amazing…we'll never get to experience a moment like this again, but now we have to go home and get to work.'"

My favorite song on the album is actually one of the singles that has already been released on radio, "Just a Kiss".  I love the lyrics, the melody, and the great blend of their voices.   My oldest daughter's favorite song is "Friday Night".   It has an upbeat catchy tune that she loves to bop away to and pretend she is Hilary.  If you want to get a little preview, you can visit their website and watch the, "We Owned The Night" music video.

Here's the track listing from the album:

1. "We Owned The Night"
2. "Just A Kiss"
3. "Dancin' Away With My Heart"
4. "Friday Night"
5. "When You Were Mine"
6. "Cold As Stone"
7. "Singing Me Home"
8. "Wanted You More"
9. "As You Turn Away"
10. "Love I've Found In You"
11. "Somewhere Love Remains"
12. "Heart Of The World"

You will love this album and if you are lucky enough to live in a city where they are touring, you won't want to miss the opportunity to see them live.  After selling out every city on the group's first-ever headlining tour, multi-platinum group Lady Antebellum announced that they will launch the first leg of their OWN THE NIGHT 2011 TOUR on Nov. 11 in Knoxville, Tenn.  The first leg of the 21-city arena tour will feature special guest Josh Kelley and a combination Eden’s Edge and Randy Montana in the opening slot. Tickets for the opening night in Knoxville, Tenn. will be available on Aug. 26 to the public.   For more information on tour cities, visit their website.
You can purchase your own copy of, Own The Night, on Amazon.
