PediCare Review and Giveaway

PediaCare has been making safe, effective medicines that professionals and moms have relied on for years. And now we provide you with a new expanded line of products for children and infants. For anything from cough, cold and allergy to fever reducers and pain relievers, look for the name you know: PediaCare.

Pedicare offers a wide variety of over-the-counter medicines for infant - children age 11.  I love that the variety allows me to choose a medicine that targets the specific symptoms of my child, and not give her a bunch of other things that she doesn't need.  They also offer each with or without Acetaminophen.
Pediacare has also developed an iPhone app, free to download, that will help guide parents in choosing the best over-the-counter medicine for their child.  By simply identifying your child's symptom's, the app will be able to suggest the right choice in medicine for you.  No more wondering if you are giving your child too much, too little, or the incorrect medicine.

Pediacare sent me several products to review PediaCare Infant fever reducer Pain reliever (Acetaminophen), Little Remedies  Children’s Fever/Pain Reliever and Little Remedies Infant Fever/Pain Reliever.  Fortunately, my children have not bee sick in the last few weeks and I didn't have an opportunity to use them.  But I have used them in the past and they work effectively with no side-effects.  And if you have a hard time getting your baby to drink his/her medicine, you are going to love the new syringe dispenser that comes with the Infant products.
PediaCare - Fever Reducer/Pain Reliever

4 fl. oz

PediaCare Infant Fever and Pain Reducer

Disney Vacation Club

My husband and I first took our two little girls to Disney four years ago. It was a last minute decision, literally, and we didn’t know what to expect. My husband is a hard working man and we don’t see him as often as we’d like. So our impromptu week at Disney was like finding Heaven on Earth. Not only did the kids get to experience Disney magic for the first time, but they also got their daddy’s undivided attention for an entire week! We stayed on Disney property at a moderate resort and we instantly fell in love with the idea of more Disney vacations. As we traveled the World, we realized that although our resort was great, Disney property could be even greater. But as we longed to experience an even grander Disney resort, we knew that the price was a bit (or a lot) too steep. Thanks to Disney’s Vacation Club, or the DVC, my family now gets to experience the magic of Disney every year! With this experience, we now stay only at the top of the line resorts and get treated like Disney royalty.

The DVC is a timeshare, but run Disney style. With this timeshare you can pick anytime and anywhere you want to take your vacation. Since you buy points, rather than weeks, you can even divide your points up to take several vacations a year. They don't even have to be vacations to Disney locations.  Your Disney points are good towards Disney Resorts, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, and most RCI timeshare properties.  You are also able to bank points you would like to save, or borrow from a different year if you are planning an extra long vacation. The DVC has a costly buy in, but after doing the math, we will have spent the equivalent in about  6 ½ vacations. Last year we stayed at the Beach Club Resort.  A one night cash stay in a one bedroom villa runs about $670 per night!  If we were not DVC members, our week stay would cost us  $4690 for just the room.  We didn't even spend that much on our last two trips to Disney put together (and that's including airfare!)  Instead, we spent 211 points for the week.  Last year our annual dues were $650. That means that we stayed at this fabulous resort for one week for $20 less than a single night. It doesn’t get better than that!

As a DVC member, you also receive great discounts good for Disney dining, shopping, shows, and all night parties (including Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party). If you love Disney and are interested in the DVC go to http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/index  or feel free to email me any questions you may have at betweenthelines-kam@hotmail.com . I can refer you to a great sales rep who never calls or bothers you at home (unless of course you ask her to).   As they say in Disney World, Have a Magical Day!

Recipe Corner: Sherbert Cake

My oldest daughter is not a big fan of cake, so we usually try to do some alternative on her birthday. This recipe, from allrecipes.com, looks like the traditional cake, but she enjoys it so much better! I hope you like it! And don’t forget to contact me if you are interested in having your blog and your yummy recipe featured in a Fabulous Food Friday Post. Whether you bake it, sauté it, or just microwave it, send it in! Share your yummy food and you may find yourself with new visitors. Please email me directly if you are interested. (betweenthelines-kam@hotmail.com )

Ingredients

• 1 (9 inch) angel food cake
• 1 pint orange sherbet, softened
• 1 pint raspberry sherbet, softened
• 1 pint lime sherbet, softened
• 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

1. Slice angel food cake crosswise to make four layers. Place the bottom layer on a serving plate, and spread orange sherbet evenly on top. The Real Dr. House

from: askrogerdrummer.com
I don't normally use my blog as a place to vent problems that I face in my life.  I like to keep it as light and cheery as I can.   But lately I've been struggling with an issue and I'm very curious to see if any others out there have shared my same experience.

So have any of you out there heard of or watch the Fox TV show, House?   It is about a brilliant doctor with horrid bedside manners.  Despite being brilliant, Dr. House can never identify the patient's problem right away.  He spends the entire episode trying out different methods of treatments.  If treatment A works, then the patient have one disease.  If treatment B works, then the patients has this disease.  If one of the treatments doesn't work, then the patient gets sicker because the disease they do have doesn't like the treatment plan.

So this has been my experience for the past 8 months.  Unfortunately, I have been bumped from doctor to doctor to doctor.  All of them have tried something and none of them have had success.  After their attempts at treatment fail, they send me on to the next doctor.   As annoying as this has been, at least they have all been kind and honest about the situation.   I have now discovered the Real Dr. House.  His bedside manner is about equal to the TV Dr. House and his idea of treatment is about the same.   One month, its this set of medicines and next month it is another set of medicines.

I'm not sure I agree with testing a bunch of different medicines in an attempt to get a full diagnosis, but at the same time I really want a solution.  I've talked to several different doctors and this seems to be an okay method to them, but then again, it isn't their body that has to handle all the different combinations.   So have any of you out there experienced Dr. House?  What did you do in the situation?  Did you trust your doctor unconditionally or worry that you were just a guinea pig?  Grab a latte, put up your feet, and join the discussion!
