NeoStrata Review

The NeoStrata Company creates and sells dermatology approved skin care products from Neostrata, Exuviance, Coverblend, and Neoceuticals. They sell various collections that meet the needs of everyone‘s specific skin type.
I was lucky enough to have had a chance to review a great products. Exuviance Intensive Eye Treatment Pads Firm and hydrate the eye area while stimulating cell renewal and minimizing fine lines and wrinkles with Lactobionic Acid and Pro-Vitamins A, C and E.  I cannot express enough how sensitive my skin is. Even on my legs, I am very limited to the type of lotion I use. Therefore, even though it said it was going to soothe, I was a little hesitant.

However, I am happy to report that it worked wonders! I have been using it for two weeks and the puffiness and lines around my eyes have noticeably diminished.  When using the pads, I received a nice cooling sensation that felt great after a long day at work.   There was a bit of tingling, but that was to be expected.  Here's what NeoStrata says about their product:

Exuviance Intensive Eye Treatment Pads firm and hydrate the delicate skin around the eye area. These single-use pads contain concentrated ingredients to provide maximum anti-aging benefits in a gentle formulation. Lactobionic Acid (10%) hydrates while it stimulates cell renewal and supports the dermal matrix, firming the skin and minimizing the appearance of fine lines. Pre-packaged in sets of two, our Intensive Eye Treatment pads are the perfect way to refresh, replenish and revitalize your eyes after a long day. Dermatologist and allergy tested. For all skin types.

You can buy your own Exuviance Intensive Eye Treatment Pads for $38 a box.  And with all orders over $75 you will get free shipping and free samples.  You can also keep up with the latest products and deals by following NeoStrata on Facebook and Twitter.

For the Love of Monkey Bars

Like every child, recess was my favorite subject in elementary school.  What's not to love?  You get to socialize, play, and actually move around.  You could usually find me on the Monkey bars or the horizontal bar doing gymnastic moves.  As a kids, I was always flipping on twirling somewhere, and during recess, the bars were the place to be.  What was your favorite thing to do during recess?

Now as a teacher and mom, I know that recess is not just all fun and games.  It is an important part of the day where our kids get to learn to socialize with their peers, get much needed exercise, and grab some much needed fresh air.   I am very thankful that at our school they have kept daily recess as well as offering PE twice a week instead of one.  Have you all heard about Rally For Recess?  Danimals is working hard to get our children active and healthy. I was so shocked that to hear that so many schools were eliminating recess time..  And you could help your school win a Brand New $20,000 Playground!

How can you help your school win?   From now through February 8, 2012 whenever you purchase Danimal’s products, you will be able to find codes on the packaging. Collect the codes from the packaging and then sign up online and enter in all of your codes. You can also send your codes in by mail if it is easier for you or your school. Throughout the contest you can visit http://rallyforrecess.com to check out the Leader boards and play fun games.  Is your school winning?

Paul McCartney's Ocean's Kingdom Giveaway

Everyone has heard of Paul McCartney, but you have never heard him like this. Mr. McCartney has left the Rock and Pop music behind for a bit to take on a new project.  The result is the magical Ocean's Kingdom.   Ocean’s Kingdom is the first time Paul has written an original orchestral score or any kind of music for dance and is the result of a collaboration between Paul and New York City Ballet’s Master in Chief Peter Martins, who have worked together to present the world premiere of a new ballet for the company’s 2011/2012 season this September.  Watch the video below to get a look into the creative process behind the development of Ocean's Kingdom.

Though the work is Paul’s first ballet, he approached the project in the same way he writes all other music, driven by his heart rather than his head and inspired by feeling rather than specific technical knowledge. While this may have been another new turn for his staggeringly varied career to take, Paul knew it had to be influenced by his own personal experience and that he needed to create a story the audience would find equally compelling and moving. To summarize his latest project McCartney says, “What was interesting was writing music that meant something expressively rather than just writing a song.  Trying to write something that expressed an emotion – so you have fear, love, anger, sadness to play with and I found that exciting and challenging.”  Don't just take his word for it.  Listen to the Ocean's Kingdom trailer below.

Love what you hear?  The premiere of the ballet Ocean’s Kingdom will take place at NYCB’s Fall Gala on Thursday 22nd September 2011 while the release of the orchestral score will follow on October 4th, available digitally, on CD and on vinyl.  It was recorded in June in London. You can pre-order your own copy today.  I also have one copy to giveaway to one lucky reader. Please just follow the instruction below.  If you have any questions, feel free to email me at betweenthelines-kam at hotmail dot com.

Rally For Recess

Have you all heard about Rally For Recess?  Danimals is working hard to get our children active and healthy. I was so shocked that to hear that so many schools were eliminating recess time.  As a teacher, I know how important recess is for students to not only get some exercise and fresh air, but also to socialize and make their own choices.    I am very thankful that at our school they have kept daily recess as well as offering PE twice a week instead of one.  Read below to learn some interesting facts.

Schools nationwide are cutting recess time due to limited resources, which can impede on your children’s physical development.  In the past twenty years, children have lost an average of 8 hours of recess a week and some schools no longer provide play time for students.  According to the American Academy of Pediatricians, the lack of playtime is a national crisis leading to a growing epidemic; childhood obesity.

Government and public health agencies recommend children engage in at 60 minutes of mild to strenuous activity each day. iv To help rally moms and kids around this cause, Dannon® Danimals®, nutritious on-the-go dairy drinks and low-fat yogurts containing calcium for kids, is launching a national initiative called “Rally for Recess”.

“Rally for Recess” is designed to create healthy competition, pitting school against school! Five schools have the opportunity to win new playground equipment and an all-day recess celebration. Danimals is committed to childhood health and wellness, which starts with good nutrition and an active lifestyle. Through February 8, 2012 purchasers can find codes on Danimals packaging to enter and register. The top five schools in each of the categories with the most codes registered wins!

Hopefully you are as excited about this amazing opportunity and will share this information with your child's school. Best of Luck!

Recipe Corner: Breakfast Cookie

If you saw my post a few weeks back about Erin' Baker Breakfast Cookies, you know how much I loved them.  They reminded me of a recipe that I had originally discovered from a good friend of mine. I found another recipe that was similar and kind of fused the two together to get a cookie that suited my family best. Although these are “cookies”, they are great for breakfast or snack time because they are low fat, low sugar, and have lots of “good” stuff in it!  I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients

• 2 cups brown sugar (I use the Splenda mixture to make it healthier)
• 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
• 4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 1/4 cup canola oil
• 1/2 cup prune puree
• 2 tablespoons water
• 5 egg whites
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 3/4 cup raisins
• 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
• 1/3 cup chopped dried cranberries (apricots work well too)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, stir together the brown sugar, oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Make a well in the center and pour in the canola oil, prune puree, water, egg whites and vanilla. Mix until well blended. Stir in the raisins, walnuts and apricots. Scoop cookies using an ice cream scoop, or roll into golf ball sized balls. Place cookies 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets and flatten to 1/2 tall with wet hands. These cookies do not flatten very much while baking.
3. In the preheated oven, bake 8 minutes for chewy cookies 10 to 12 minutes for dry cookies. Cookies will not get crisp. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
