As most of you know, I have been training for a marathon. I have been running hard, stretching extra, and sleeping more. Unfortunately, my last run didn't go so well and I hyper-extended my knee and then twisted it. After recovering from the humiliation of almost falling flat on my face, I realized that I had actually done quite a number on my knee. The pain is tolerable and if I'm sitting with it bent it isn't even an issue. But the second I straighten it out, pain shoots up through my leg. Needless to say, I haven't run in the last few days. I have taken up the elliptical and I'm not too excited about it. Although I know the elliptical is a great workout, it just isn't going to cut it when I'm suppose to be teaching my body to run long distances. I'm not going to give on my goal of finishing a marathon, but I think that the one I run in is going to have to change. Anyone else manage to hurt themselves this year (the whole week of it)? Grab a latte, put up your feet, and join the discussion!

Yes, I fell on New Year's Day on my bathroom floor. I had shampoo my bedroom carpet earlier in the day. Well, thats it I fell just as soon as I stepped my first foot into the bathroom took at the left side of my body. My shoulder hit the door frame and my left leg bent and I sat down on it. Going for second set of ex-rays the first set was to much swelling.
Oh no M!!! I am so sorry to hear that. I hope your injuries heal quickly.
I just started following your blog this morning. I love it. Lots of good information. Hope you feel better soon. Please follow me back at www.mamawsplace4.blogspot.com.
Love your precious heart, Ms. Kel. Praying for God to lay His healing hand on your leg and make it good as new!!! (you, too, Ms. Marenda)!!!
Thanks for joining my little linky party! In His Love...Deb
Sorry, Kel I thought I had finished. Well, the doctor said today that it was just going to be long process of healing at least four more weeks. I had really strecth the muscle in my leg and foot.
Oh no! That's crappy but it's good that you can still make it on the elliptical!
Sending you warm healing hugs ;)
I am so sorry. I understand the need to finish "your" marathon...and you have all my best wishes...but make sure you don't do anything that will cause permanent damage. I ran a marathon once, and unfortunately, my knee is paying for it now.
You are doing great to be in training, cannot give advice? Sounds like you have a plan!
