Sir, Please Stay Still

Yesterday, as I waited for an hour to get my MRI I heard, "Sir, Please stay still!" repeated dozens of times.  I guess they figured  that the appointment ahead of me would go quickly, so they brought me back to wait.  Unfortunately, they were terribly wrong.  The more they told the man to stay still, the more he moved.  Of course, I wasn't watching this, but all of their conversation was on a loud speaker so the man could hear them.  And although I was soooooo tired of waiting, I felt so bad for him.  I know how hard it is to stay still, especially when someone tells you to do so.  Everyone who knows me well, knows that I am not a big fan of small spaces for that very reason.  I like to be able to move when I want to.  So the more I listen to them say, "Sir, Please stay still!", the more I dreaded my turn.  However, when I finally did get in there, I managed to listen to my music and stay still for the entire 30 minutes.  My legs were tingling and asleep when they were done,  but at least I didn't have to redo any scans.  Can you name something else that is hard to do just because someone tells you to do it?  Grab a latte, put up your feet, and join the discussion!

Getting your photo taken and being told to smile. Somehow I always look 'pained' ! And my husband is a photographer!

I always have trouble just being quiet.
I hope you get the results you desire from your MRI. :)

I have trouble smiling for the camera too, but not being quiet. I love silence when I can get it :)

Thanks ladies.

My main thing is laughter. If something strikes me as funny, I'm gonna laugh...even if it is at an inappropriate time. Especially when small children do or say something in church when they are not supposed to. My daughter say "Mom, quit laughing." Which just makes me laugh harder.

I remember having giggle fits in class and the teacher shooting me death rays, but once you start, it's impossible to stop until it just ends on its own!

I can't stop laughing when I need to. I was always the girl in class being sushed by the teacher with a scowling face but then that just made me laugh harder usually.

Another one of those is "Don't look down!" yeah right! lol.

I'm with Bee - I cannot control my laughter. And especially when someone says: "Stop laughing!!" it gets even worse!

I have the same problem as you all. Once the laughter starts, it's hard to stop. I usually laugh myself into tears. :)

Lately for me too it has been hysterical laughing.... My husband and I were shopping for his first ever American St. Patrick's Day party and we were looking for something green. I don't know what he said or I said but the next thing I know I was laughing hysterically, tears streaming down my face in the middle of M&S. The more he told me to hush the harder I laughed. Must have been the leprechauns. Uh oh, here I go again.....
