Is It Really That Time Already?

This week will begin a period of time that I have been dreading for about two years.  Since my eldest daughter stepped onto the school bus for her first day of kindergarten, I have been secretly holding on tighter to my youngest.  How they grow up so fast is still a mystery to most moms and I wish I had discovered a way to slow down the process.  This week begins the kindergarten registration process for my youngest.  My last little baby is preparing to start her school career.  I know it won't sound like a big deal to most, but for some reason it makes me feel very sad.  On a positive note, I  know that she is ready.  She is a very smart and social little girl.  And I suppose, if she decides to love Kindergarten, that will make easier on me.  Does anyone else notice that their children are growing up faster than you want?  Would you rather keep them home longer or are you just ready to get them out of the house?  Grab a latte, put up your feet, and join the discussion!

Morning Kel...you've stopped by recently so you know that I'm dealing with my oldest turning 5 this Saturday. I know he loves school and it has been nice spending time alone with my youngest. When he starts early pre-k (two days a week) in the fall I may be having some breakdowns. What I miss is the possibility of them needing me as much as they did when they were small but I look forward to the possibilities they face as they head into the world. Such a hard thing though.

I am happy that my kid are in schol all day. I guess I view motherhood differently than most, since I have a 7.5 year difference between my oldest (almost 16) and my twins (8). I have had the luxury of having one get her wings and then having two who needed me.

Honestly, twins are hard, especially when help was non-existent and hubby was gone over 60hours a week earning us a living.

When they entered first grade, I hosted a breakfast at my house for all of my friends who had reached an important mothering milestone...all the kids were in school all day.

Enjoy them while they are young, but remember that by giving them wings, we have done our job.

Oh I agree Kel. I do believe the time seems to be slipping away a bit faster! I think I will be the same when it's time to let them go to school. Your little angel looks like she is READY though which means you have done a great job!

It made me terribly sad too. It's just so final. :( But there are tons of fun things that happen during the school years so it's all good!
